Whether you want to come with family and friends or on your own and meet new people, we can help you find a game and show you how to play. We are passionate about bringing people together with board games in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
As well as holding regular pop-up gaming sessions we are available to hire for private functions.

Our Story
We’re Jacob and Sarah, a husband and wife team behind Shakes & Ladders. Based in Surrey with our lively gaggle of kids, we live and breathe board games!
The idea for a pop-up board game cafe came to us while we were trying to wrestle some board games back into our overflowing games cupboard. And we’re not talking about a small cupboard, we mean one of those giant built-in floor to ceiling bedroom cupboards! So we set about putting all these games to good use, thus Shakes & Ladders was born.
